The ledger
The first order goes in on launch night.
How the ledger works
Every 10 qualifying scans earn one tree. A qualifying scan is a clear photo of a real plant that isn't a repeat of one you scanned in the last 30 days.
Scan-earned trees are capped each month: 3 on Free, 10 on Pro, 30 on Forest. The cap exists so one bot can't buy a forest on our card.
Each night we add up the trees earned that day and place one order with our planting vendor, The Good API, whose partner organizations plant and verify the trees.
Each order moves through three statuses:
- pending: we've sent the order and are waiting for the vendor to confirm it.
- planted: we placed and paid for the order. The counters count a tree as planted from here.
- verified: the vendor's partner confirmed the planting and posted evidence.
We pay, you don't; nothing here is a donation.
Your scan photos are not stored by Everforest.
